On-Call Guidelines
Clients

An Dimensional HomeCare Services, Inc., nurse is always available, even after regular office hours. If a patient's condition changes, please call the local Dimensional HomeCare Services, Inc., office so we can decide to make a visit and/or to call the doctor, if necessary. We can be called after regular office hours at (215) 528-6197. We do not deliver routine supplies or equipment after regular office hours. Also, we do not carry medicines with us and cannot give the patient anything the doctor does not order. Here are some reasons to call our agency after regular hours.

Chest Pains
Chest pain usually means the patient needs to be seen by a doctor, either in the office or emergency room.

Temperatures
If the patients temperature rises above 100°, telephone for help. A home visit may be necessary.

Respiratory Distress
If the patient cannot breathe, they need to be seen by their doctor in the office or emergency room. We may tell you how to breathe easier or how to use breathing aids if ordered by the doctor.

Catheters
Catheters are usually not an emergency unless the patient cannot urinate. If the catheter does not drain, or comes out and the patient cannot urinate, a call is necessary. The nurse may need to make a home visit then or schedule an early visit the next day.

Feeding Tubes
If a feeding tube comes out part of the way, do not try to put it back in — call the nurse. If it comes out all the way after the supper feeding, the patient can usually wait until morning, unless they are diabetic or are on medication through the tube. The on-call nurse can help you.

Falls or Injuries
Notify the on-call nurse or call 911.
